MVP of the Week: Here we have…The Badass Ninja

Ivan

In ancient China there is a legend that one day a child will be born from a dragon, grow to be a man, and become the best developer in the world. That man is not Ivan, because Ivan has beaten that man.

There are no Ivan stories, only IVAN FACTS.
When Ivan was born the only person who cried was the doctor. Never slap Ivan.
During his National Service, Ivan threw a grenade and destroyed 10 trees. Then the grenade exploded.
There are no dangerous wild animals in Singapore. Ivan ate them all.
Ivan has the best poker face. He won a World Championship of Texas Holdem Poker with two UNO #5 cards in his hand.
Ivan can pick durians from a banana tree and squeeze sugarcane juice out of them.
Ivan’s computer has no backspace button. He doesn’t make mistakes.
There is no ctrl button either. Ivan is always in control.
Some people chew bubblegum. Ivan can blow bubbles by chewing bak kwa.
Ivan once defeated a brick wall in a game of tennis.
Ivan can divide by zero.
Ivan can kill two stones with one bird.
Ivan wins DOTA 2 competitions using a Guitar Hero drumset as his controller.
Once a cobra bit Ivan’s leg. After three days of pain and suffering, the Cobra died.

Ivan studies Computer Engineering at NUS.
Ivan is developing our developer’s site.

MVP of the Week: Here we have… The Java Ninja

Bharath

Bharath was playing cricket with his friends when an alien spaceship crash-landed in the field some distance from them. Upon investigating it, they found an alien who had traveled to Earth to seek a champion coder to recruit to the inter-galactic programmer army, the Green Language Corps. The alien was able to detect high coding power in Bharath, who is a Dean’s Lister in the NUS Computer Science course. Unfortunately, the alien had sustained fatal injuries from the crash and was unable to fly them back to its home planet. Before it died, it passed to Bharath a mighty alien device: the Amulet of Algorithms.

With the Amulet, Bharath became able to transform his thoughts into physical objects made out of solid code, empowering him to create any item through its power as long as the he had the necessary algorithms.

Sensing the intense gamification rays released by the Gametize Reactor,
Bharath flew over and used the Amulet to construct a reinforced protective shell to shield people from the overload of fun. At Gametize, he saw a great opportunity where he could contribute these powers to build an amazing gamification platform and joined us.

Bharath currently works on optimizing Gametize’s analytics engine while lending his handsome image to promote Selfiely on CNET Japan.

MVP of the Week: Meet the… Pencil Ninja

Winston

Winston was originally a young man who loved to draw. To become better at illustration, Winston volunteered as an experimental subject in a top-secret lab dedicated to creating super-soldier-sketchers. Scientists injected him with a serum that enhanced his artistic talents beyond that of an ordinary human. Winston then trained to wield the indestructible Sketchbook of Shadows to create great-looking art and the Gauntlet of Illusions to further enhance his artworks digitally.

While sketching penguins in Antarctica, Winston was caught in a blizzard and disappeared for forty days. The Gametize team, seeking out this talented illustrator, found him frozen in a block of ice, still clutching his sketchbook. After being defrosted by the team, Winston agreed to join them as he was curious about how he can combine his artistic talents with gamification. Winston also found himself drawn to the speed of the Gametize platform, which helps people create games in 5 minutes.

Currently studying Computer Science in NTU, Winston challenges himself to draw even faster as he works in Gametize, where work moves at the speed of fun.

MVP of the Week: Looking at you… the Speed-writing Ninja

Max

Once upon a time, Max was a regular guy studying a degree in Information Systems and Management from the University of London. He loved writing and dreamed of saving the world with stories.

During an expedition to climb Mount Kinabalu, Max was almost at the top of the mountain when he found a strange cave. Having a strong curiosity, he decided to explore the cave.

Inside the cave, Max found a magical ninja artifact– the Ten Rings of Qwertyuiop. As he put on all ten rings, Max felt a surge of creative energy throughout his whole body. The rings empowered his fingers to type at lightning speed and caused his mind to become supercharged with stories.

To control his newfound ninja powers, Max applied to join the Gametize Institute for Gifted Ninjas. Gametize’s fun atmosphere ensures that Max can exercise his powers freely without over-exerting himself. Max joins the Gametize team to use his abilities in crafting engaging articles on gamification, inspiring readers and spreading the spirit of fun.

Psst, but that’s not all, this Speed-writing Ninja is also secretly working on a gamified wine game…

MVP of the Week: Bringing you the… Time-Traveling Ninja

Michael

Michael comes from a future time when games don’t exist anymore. In his time, a mysterious global event caused every single type of game to disappear off the face of the earth. Desperate to bring games back, genius inventors designed a Time-travel Katana which Michael used to slice through time and travel into the past. Michael has come to our present time to learn about gamification in Gametize and prevent his game-less future from ever happening.

Michael first time-traveled to Ancient Greece, where he learnt their language while training alongside Spartan warriors. Upon gaining the skills of a Spartan, Michael time-traveled to the present and joined Gametize to study the unique characteristics of games so he can stop a future without games from occurring.

To fully understand what makes games so special, Michael is corresponding with Gametize’s consulting partners in the USA and using the Gametize platform to create a game that helps people learn Ancient Greek. He is currently studying Economics at Hillsdale College in Michigan, USA.

MVP of the Week: Presenting the…Networking Ninja

FreshFaces_KY (1)

Keng Yong was just an ordinary nerdy student when he was bitten by a radioactive business idea. This incredible incident altered his DNA and gave him ninja powers.

Suddenly, Keng Yong found that he was able to collect anyone’s namecard with his super-sticky hands. His reflexes became sharper, enabling him to make Powerpoint presentations three times faster. On top of this, Keng Yong developed a sixth sense called “Startup-sense”, which gives him a tingling feeling when an amazing startup is near.

Keng Yong is enrolled in NUS Entreprise’s 6-month iLEAD programme, which involves working in an outstanding start-up company. His “Startup-sense” led him to join Gametize, where ordinary people are empowered to create amazing games. At Gametize, Keng Yong’s powers are strengthened by the high concentration of fun in the office. With his increased power, Keng Yong works hard to create awesome content and find business partners.
