According to Euromonitor, consumer expenditure on meat in Asia Pacific has increased 25% in 2017 to 2022 from USD 508 Billion to USD 636 Billion.
Additionally, according to the United Nations, the production of meat is responsible for 60% of carbon emission of all food production in the world. Therefore, with the rising consumption of meat there is a worrying rise of carbon emissions from the meat industry. This has a negative impact on the environment and public health, as well as contributing to the degradation of natural resources and ecosystems. For example, unsustainable cattle ranching accounts for 80% of deforestation of the Amazon Rainforest. In light of this, we intend to reduce meat consumption through encouraging people to consume plant-based alternatives (PBAs) with gamification.
According to Forbes in 2018, there is a rising trend in the US where companies are catering meat-reduced diets like PBAs, due to their positive impacts; employees are happier and healthier thus resulting in higher productivity. Therefore there is a strong incentive for companies in Singapore to encourage their employees to introduce PBAs into their lives.
- Through plantBASED, the company can improve employee wellbeing and lifestyle thus resulting in improved employee’s productivity.
- This is done through the consumption of plant-based alternatives (PBA) while increasing awareness of the effects of the greenhouse gas emissions from rearing livestock within the company’s employee base
This is a 21-days campaign designed to help kickstart your Plant Based Alternative journey, which can help to improve employee wellbeing and lifestyle, thus resulting in improved employee’s productivity.
